Dr. Charles McCormick

McCormick III, M.D., received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University in 1971 before completing his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1975. A rotating internship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis preceded his ophthalmology post-graduate training at Indiana University School of Medicine in 1979. He became a Fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1981. Dr. McCormick is a Board Certified Ophthalmic Surgeon specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, American Medical Association, Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Indiana State Medical Association. He is a past advisor and former president of the Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology, former advisor for the Vision Council of America, and is current a Beta Theta Pi men's fraternity board member.

Dr. McCormick was recognized by the Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology as the Ophthalmologist of the Year 2001. He has supported several charities and developed the McCormick Science Grant for basic science research at Indiana University. Dr. McCormick is a third generation doctor and was attracted to ophthalmology through his activities in photojournalism. Although he did not pursue OB/GYN as his father had wished, several hundred of his father's former patients have sought him for eye care. Dr. McCormick is co-founder of the Indiana Eye Clinic.

 

Dr. Nicholas Rader

dr nicholas raderNicholas Rader, M.D., earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine after being awarded Phi Beta Kappa honors in premedical studies. Following his internship at Highland Alameda County Hospital in Oakland, California, Dr. Rader completed his ophthalmology residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1979. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is a Board Certified Ophthalmic Surgeon specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. Dr. Rader's memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, American Medical Association, Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology, Indiana State Medical Association, Indianapolis Medical Societies, and the Johnson County Medical Society. In addition to having served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Indiana University School of Medicine, he is a past director and committee chairman for the Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology and past president of the Johnson County Medical Society.

Dr. Rader has over 20 years experience in all types of refractive surgery dating back to 1983, when he became one of the first surgeons in Indiana to perform radial keratotomy. Since then, Dr. Rader has had an on-going commitment to the refractive patient, with experience in a wide variety of refractive procedures, including Epikeratomileusis, Epikeratophakis, RK, ALK, Intacts, Refractive Lensectomy, Astigmatic Keratotomy and LASEK. He is the medical director and co-founder of the Indiana Eye Clinic.


Dr. William Keeling

Keeling, Ph.D., M.D., graduated from Wabash College in 1984 and received his Ph.D. in Medical Physiology and Biophysics at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1988. In 1992, he completed his medical degree with highest honors at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Following an internship at St. Vincent Hospital in 1993, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the top-ranked University of Iowa Ophthalmology program in 1996. Dr. Keeling is a Board Certified Ophthalmic Surgeon specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, American Medical Association, Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology, Indiana State Medical Association, Indianapolis Medical Society, and the Indiana Medical History Museum, and he is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Keeling specializes in surgery of the eye with a particular interest in laser refractive surgery and cataract surgery. He has completed specialized training programs in Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomaleusis (LASIK and LASEK) and Photo Refractive Keratectomy (PRK). Other areas of interest include glaucoma, cornea, oculoplastics, and diabetic eye disease. Dr. Keeling comes from a long line of physicians, dating back to the 1700s. Most of his predecessors have practiced in the central and southern regions of Indiana.

Dr. Keeling is available to see patients in Plainfield, Greenwood, and Greencastle.

Dr. Carissa Barina

Barina, M.D. graduated from Purdue University, earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her Ophthalmology residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She has a Master of Science Degree in Pathology from Indiana University.

Dr. Barina is a Board Certified Ophthalmic Surgeon and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Medical Women's Association, Indiana State Medical Association, Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology, and Indianapolis Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Barina is a volunteer faculty member at Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology. She specializes in cataract care and surgery, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma treatment, laser vision correction, macular degeneration, and comprehensive eye exams.

Dr. Barina is available to see patients in Plainfield and Brazil, IN.



Dr. Thomas Funk

dr thomas funkThomas M. Funk, O.D. is a graduate from St. Joseph's College, Suma Cum Laude. He received his Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1983. Dr. Funk is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Indiana Optometric Association, and the Central Society of the Indiana Optometric Association. Since 1999, Dr. Funk has made several service trips to communities in El Salvador, where he continues to provide eye care to local residents and assists local doctors in their community health efforts. Dr. Funk has served as chairman of St. Pius School Commission and is a member of the Tamarindo Foundation Board of Directors. He has been a church musician for several years.


Dr. Ronald Brinegar

dr ronald brinegarRonald J. Brinegar, O.D. graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University. He earned the Doctor of Optometry in 1993 from Indiana University School of Optometry. Dr. Brinegar is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Indiana Optometric Association, Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society, and the Stonebelt Optometric Society. As a lifetime resident of Bloomington, Dr. Brinegar is very active in the community. He has sponsored two youth baseball teams, and conducts visual screenings at area pre-school and elementary schools.


Dr. Keely Allen

dr keely allenKeely D. Allen, O.D. earned her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Missouri - St. Louis, Magna Cum Laude, and graduated with honors from the Indiana University School of Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Indiana Optometric Association, and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Allen provides primary vision and eye care to her patients, including comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and managing vision-related problems.
